(More customer reviews)After using my HTC for awhile the daily grind on charging over night, getting the car charger to carry during the workday got very old. With the stock battery with normal use I could get to the end of the work day 7am to 4pm but with no real internet use GPS or Pandora. So I always had to drag around my car charger and charge towards the end of the day. With my job I switch trucks a lot so the car chargers would get lost all the time from changing trucks, this got old and expensive. I checked into extended cell phone batteries and didnt find a lot of options for this phone. I ordered two cheap ones $20 a piece from other venders. Then by luck I stumbled onto the Mugen battery. I used the cheap ones while waiting for this one to arrive. They worked pretty good or so I thought. Then this beast came in the mail.
I followed Mugens directions for first use (12 hour charge before use). And then I tried, literally tried to kill it in one day. Ran Pandora, spent a few hours online, left it hooked up to wifi. Went and ran 2 hours of errands while I used the GPS for directions. Played some games for a hour or so, let the wife play games also for at least 2 hours. Its now 11 pm I started at 9 am, I have just reached half battery!!! Mugen said the battery will improve over time, will be at full performance after 5th charge. So it is just gonna get better!
With the two cheap $20 ones I could get a full day but would need charging, but still would suffice if you wanted the cheap route and didnt need tons of battery. If you are like me and need to use your phone for 24 plus hours away from charging points sometimes then spend the extra money and get the Mugen.
The back cover actually feels good to use better then stock. Although I liked the cheap $20 back covers better then this one. They are raised on the entire back making it super easy to hold. The Mugen back cover is only raised where the battery is, it helps a bit but not as good as the cheap $20 back covers. Still it isnt bad at all and is a great improvement over stock.
A lot of reviews complain of the ugly hump on the back of your phone. Once you see it in real life you will feel different. It is not bad at all and is functional. Plus what looks worse a phone stuck pluged into a wall or car charger making it awkward to use. Or a phone you can charge overnight and NEVER need to be looking for a power point. Or for the people saying it is bulky. I think dragging a car charger around everyday in my pocket is bulky. This is just a flat out must have for any HTC Desire user!
Buy it, use it, have fun trying to kill it!
