(More customer reviews)I did not buy this battery to replace the original. I bought this battery to serve as a spare for when I'm traveling and can't plug in my phone. This battery is not sufficient enough to be used as a permanent replacement for the phone's original battery. The battery life is significantly less than the phone's original battery. Within two hours of being unplugged from the wall charger, and with little/no use (no phone calls, not text messages, no surfing the web, no watching videos/listening to music - basically sitting w/the screen turned off), it had already decreased to 70%. That's pretty significant. When it gets to 5% it sits there for a few hours and then shuts off, so you have no indication of when the battery will really die. I also tried what a previous reviewer suggested and let the battery die and recharge fully a couple times to recalibrate it but it didn't work for me unfortunately, it still runs down quickly and then idles at 5% for some time. With that being said, I would NOT recommend this as a replacement battery for the Droid X.
This battery would serve as a good spare because you can probably get at least 8-12 hours out of it with little/no use, which would probably mean about 4-5 hours of moderate/heavy use-enough to watch a movie on the plane, which is why I'm keeping it. I also paid less than ten bucks for it, if I had paid more I might feel a little ripped off. I noticed right as I'm writing this review the merchant (who is the same merchant I purchased from) has jacked the price up to almost twenty dollars. I don't know how I'd feel about paying that much for a shoddy battery such as this, but that's entirely up to you. Just make sure you read the reviews and know what to expect.
