I'm very satisfied with my AT&T Tilt and have no desire to purchase a new phone any time soon. I pre-ordered one of the first batches of Tilts and I must say that I'm pretty satisfied with how long the original battery has held up. As a matter of fact, it still works, it just doesn't hold a charge for long enough especially with the abuse I put my phone through.
I mutilate and torture my cell phone on a daily basis. I do not sit at a desk all day and move around all day long and I like to listen to news / talk shows / audiobooks while I go about my business. Most of the time during the day I'm streaming some sort of media over the internet on my phone. I used to carry a pocket radio with me but since I realized I can listen to any radio station in the world over the internet on my phone I have since completely switched to using my phone all of the time.
My old battery would last about 2 hours (not bad) during the course of the day. I would compensate by carrying mobile battery packs around with me to charge the phone while it was in my pocket as well as a regular charger to plug it into the wall if I had the chance and I would make it through the day with a live phone about half the time. I bought this battery not hoping to go for days without charging but just to make it through one workday of abuse.
I have 2 complaints. #1, the oversized backing that comes with this battery that you have to use in order to use the oversized battery is not stable. It constantly pops off even when I'm not messing with the phone. Fortunately, the battery doesn't seem to come out of it's socket even when the backing comes off so it's not a killer issue, but it is very annoying. I may even switch back to the old battery just to alleviate this problem. #2 is that for a battery that is more than twice the capacity of the original battery on top of being brand new, it doesn't hold an impressive charge. It does last longer than I remember the original battery lasting, but I have doubts as to whether or not it even lasts twice as long as the original.
It does do what I wanted it to do though. I can make it through the day with a live phone. At the end of the day now I usually end up having about 30% of the battery left and since my phone stays alive longer I am using it more so it is handling an increased load.
I would suggest trying the standard sized extended life battery before trying this one, while personally I don't mind the extra size of the phone the backing is very annoying and the life of the battery just doesn't knock my socks off.
