Although I did not purchase this item from Amazon, I finally received mine yesterday. I also bought a $3 dollar wall charger to go with it as well. One thing to note when getting these batteries is that if you charge it in your EVO, it will not charge it to the fullest capacity, due to the EVO being programed to charge up to 1500 mAh. I read there is a way to reset the phone to make it charge it at a higher capacity, but that's a whole other topic that I won't get into.
Anyway, after charging this battery with the wall charger I bought with it, I switched out the batteries and kept this one in my phone for the rest of the night. Please note that this is 10pm when I did this, and I kept my data network on all night as well, but left everything else, such as GPS location, off. Using the Battery Indicator app from the Google Market, the phone was still at a good 85% by the time I woke up. I kept my data network on the entire day to see how well this thing would last.
By the time I returned home, the phone was at 40%, due to me using my GPS that day, as well as some texting and web surfing. Thus, according to the battery app, this battery was running a good 18 hours! If this was my regular battery, it would have needed a charge a long time ago! I could have left the battery going for the rest of the day, but since they suggest you charge these batteries off and on and not let it drain totally, I decided to give it a good charge for another day for tomorrow. I no longer have to worry about my battery now that I have this one.
The site that I purchased this battery for $25.99, compared to the price on Amazon. (Sorry, Amazon!). Plus, they had free shipping. It only took 5 days to get to me, which is pretty quick when it comes to being shipped from overseas! Although this battery is only 3000mAh, you're saving a lot of money, compared to the Seidio battery, which is around $50. In total, I only paid $30 for the battery and charger.
Lastly, if you're wondering about the back cover for the battery, it isn't that bad either. It still feels a little rubbery to give you that same grip, but it is not flush to the phone when it is covered. Don't get me wrong, this thing WILL cover your phone; you just have to make sure that you snap the corners in, but you will still see a little bit of openings. For me, I see that on the bottom, but the back won't fall off on its own or anything. Also, I do not have a case on my phone, since they don't make many cases that fit a phone with an extended battery. Even if they do, I wouldn't pay $14-$30 for one. You'll just have to buy a cheap one and cut out the back if you really want to protect your phone.
I will keep my post updated within a few months, for those who wonder how well this thing holds up. I've read reviews where some people claim the Seidio battery fails after having it for just a month, so please check back for any updates!
EDIT: After having this battery for several months now, I'm glad to say that it is still running strong. I don't leave my internet running or GPS, since there is no need to throughout the day. By doing this, I go home with 85% of battery life. I still use the internet and watch videos for an hour and during my breaks at work, and this battery still has that same amount by the end of the work day.
As for NOT using the wall charger that I bought with it, if it is not used to charge the battery, then it is not charged all the way. Having this battery charge using the stock charger that came with the phone will show that it is at 100%, but within a few seconds, it drops down to 92%-95% of life, due to the limitations it has on charging the battery correctly. Therefore, I encourage you to buy a stand alone wall charger with this batter to have it 100% ready.
