(More customer reviews)The Mugen Extended Cap battery for the Nokia N900 more than doubled the battery life of my phone. I'm a moderate user and I now only have to charge my phone about once every 3 days. The high capacity of this battery means that even tho the battery indicator on the phone says it's dead empty, there's still juice in it. So, instead of charging my phone at the 1/4 mark as I used to, I can wait until the indicator bar has disappeared before charging it.
There is a price to pay for this confidence and convenience. Namely:
1) The battery comes with a new back for the N900. It contains an opening for the rear-facing camera and a camera switch. While this is all well designed and looks like it was made by Nokia, there is no lens cover. I don't really miss it, but Mugen designers left out one really important element that Nokia so thoughtfully provided: the kick stand.
2) The added bulk of this battery brings the over all thickness of the N900 to 1 inch. I was able to find a new leather belt case in a matter of 5 minutes at one of those Mall kiosks that sell phone cases. That's not something you can really order online because you have to try the case on for a good fit.
I would buy this battery again without hesitation because for me the long battery life outweighs these two issues. But they cannot be ignored and that is why I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
