(More customer reviews)After using the battery for 2 days, it did not appear to be any better than the stock battery. I therefore decided to do some actual analysis instead of going by how it feels. As described in excruciating detail below, testing on professional equipment shows the battery to be 1060mAh or a bit smaller than the stock battery. It is nowhere near the 1600mAh claimed.
I had a friend who designs power systems for hybrid vehicles test the battery on his battery test equipment. The battery was fully charged in an Inspire phone at a temperature of 25C. It was then loaded with 4 Ohm load at a 25C ambient temperature. This resulted in a current of about 850mA (varying form 950mA initially to 730mA just before cutoff). The battery was drained under constant resistance till the voltage dropped to 3.0V after 77 minutes and 12 seconds. During this time the battery produced 3.93WH of energy which converts to 1060mAH at a standard voltage of 3.7V. When the discharged battery was installed in an Inspire, it powered up and gave a low battery alarm. When the phone was connected to a charger, the charger reported the battery to be at "0%" charge.
The actual capacity of 1060mAh is about 85% the capacity of a standard Inspire battery and 2/3 of the claimed capacity for this battery. In other words, this is a scam. They are selling a smaller battery than the stock battery while falsely claiming that it is an extended battery.
Amazon should be ashamed of themselves for participating in this scam.
