(More customer reviews)After reading many mixed reviews on other more expensive cases, I opted to give this case a shot as a temporary fix. It turns out this will likely be a permanent solution.
For the price of a decent cup of joe, this case overcomes 2 significant issues with the Evo:
1. It protects the rear camera lens and allows it to be ~.05mm recessed so the phone will sit level on a table (while remaining slightly rounded at the edges).
2. It slightly shields the hypersensitive SEARCH and HOME buttons on the front of the Evo to cut down on their accidental use.
Other Pros:
1. Good Quality Materials - Similar to the look and feel of the back of the phone, but soft and ~1mm thick.
2. Decent fit - Covers the phone well without ruining the look of the Evo. It provides ~1mm clearance between the top of each corner and the glass screen.
3. Except for the Power and Volume buttons, all ports and features are UNcovered (kickstand, power/micro-USB, micro-HDMI, earpiece, speaker, cameras, flash, etc.) For the covered power and volume buttons, 'outdents' are provided to allow these controls to be pressed through the case material itself. 4. Ease of installation and removal - 2-3 seconds max.
Cons:
1. The soft rubber materials allow the case to slightly 'bow' open on the top and sides. Although it readily snaps back into place, it is likely that a road warrior will destroy this case over the course of a year. The bottom section will be the first to go.
2. The covered power and volume buttons require 2x more pressure and some getting used to.
