(More customer reviews)The good: Battery definitely extends time between recharges. Appears to be something less than a 100% improvement, oddly, but I've heard that Li-ion batteries need a few recharge cycles to condition them for full capacity. So we'll see.
The bad: The new back panel is a LOT deeper than it needs to be; 1/3 to 1/2 again that of the battery itself. Phone is now thicker than the AT&T Tilt it replaced, which simply isn't necessary.
The ugly: The back again. Much deeper and blockier than even the photos in the product description make it out to be; not very comfortable to hold, and completely ruins the lines of the phone. And, again, on close examination I can't find a single reason this should be so; there is a LOT of dead space in there. I'm hard pressed to believe this back was designed specifically for Galaxy S phones.
Summary: Four stars for the battery itself; one for the cover. If I can find another extended battery for this thing with a better-designed back, I may buy it just for the back.
*** POSTSCRIPT, three months later: I realized a few days ago that I'm back to charging this phone at least every other day, sometimes daily, despite overnight recharges to make sure it's topped off. Power usage profile is unchanged from January, so I have to conclude that either the battery is weakening, or the phone can't properly recharge it. I've also discovered that there is a switch on the phone underneath the back plate that is clearly intended to signal when the back is taken off. The lame cover does NOT close this switch. Doesn't appear to be affecting operation so far, but is still a glaring oversight on Seidio's part.
I've read that rooting Android makes it possible to reset the battery profile, supposedly enabling use of more of the battery's capacity. I may mess with this at some point, but as of now I'm probably going to go back to the original battery and back. Now two stars for the battery, one for the cover.
