(More customer reviews)I was initially very pleased with this battery. I charged it overnight and even with intentionally heavier use than normal it lasted over a week between charges. I let it drain over the course of a week or so to about 15%, then recharged it to 100%, letting it charge overnight to ensure I was fully powered.
I was a little irritated when every time an app updated and the phone needed to reboot I was forced to reapply the code to the battery. It meant every time the phone was updated I needed to remember to put the original battery in first or the reboot would fail. It would have been nice to know this up front, as I have not had this requirement with any other third party battery I've used with previous phones (this is my first Blackberry). But after the most recent update my phone stopped recognizing the battery no matter what I did. In fact, it flagged the battery as "bad" almost as soon as the reboot process started. Previously the reboot process was almost over before that happened.
I don't know if the phone update is the issue, if something failed in the battery itself or if there is a problem with the tray that copies the code. All I know is that after two weeks I'm stuck with my original battery and frequent recharge requirements. Not sure I'm interested in wasting another $20+ even trying another battery option.
The compatibility issues may be from Blackberry rather than the battery, but I think there should have been some warning before I purchased of the coding requirement. I especially think there should have been warnings that Blackberry could use software to essentially prevent me from using the battery at all. Even though I believe the battery may be fine I also think I should have been warned of the risks in this case up front by the seller.
