(More customer reviews)I'm not a big fan of carrying my blackberry in a belt clip or holster, so that only leaves pocket carry. And for those who have pocket-carried their BB, you know how banged-up and scratched up they get. I've been using various flexible rubber/silicone covers on my older BBs, but they're always a little too "grippy" when you try to pull your BB out of your pocket.
I have friends that swear by Otterbox, but the original model is built like a tank and seems to be about that size as well. Way too big for my liking and makes it look you're carrying a brick in your pocket. So, when I got my new blackbery 9650, I looked around for something better. Along came the Otterbox Commuter Case...a combination of a flexible silicone case underneath a hard plastic shell, and it's much, much smaller than the standard Otterbox case. Very easy to put on; covers all your openings with flap covers; comes with a screen protector; it's durable; and the plastic shell makes it breeze to slip in and out of your pocket.
The included screen protector is relatively easy to put on, but make sure your hands are super-clean and you apply the screen protector in an area with limited lint/dust. I was extra careful and still managed to get a piece of lint underneath the darn thing, but it basically disappeared after I used the included plastic card to wipe out the air bubbles.
This is probably the best hybrid protective BB case I've found that is actually geared towards pocket-carry.
